Title: Low compression
Post by: mullins on June 26, 2007, 09:25:40 AM
Just to let those of you wondering know (Carl, etc), i\'ve finally had my sneaking suspisions confirmed. My engine has low compression. It still runs (not totally dead), but if you stall it you wont get it started again until it cools. I\'m still going to try and drive to the retro show, but don\'t be surprised if i arrive on the back of an AA lorry!! :Giggle

mines in the same boat at the min. Got 6.5bar on the front and 4.5bar on the rear. Engine still starts ok hot and cold but i know i need a new engine. Got a 13b waiting, just need some bits through the post !

I\'ve done almost 1.5k since those readings where taken, just need it to last another month :D

Yeah i also brought a backup engine fearing the worst (12a), just i don\'t have time to do a swap before the 7/7/7. Well, the swap itself wouldn\'t take long, it\'s just sourcing a decent exhaust, doing the wiring, etc - I\'d rather do the swap once, do it right kinda thing.

Are you gonna make it to the retro show?
