Has anyone any idea at what frequency knock tends to be detected on a rotary engine. I\'m sure i\'ve read somewhere its in the 6khz range but can\'t find the website again to confirm.

trying to filter out excess noise?
Knock as in pinking on a piston engined car? I don\'t think that can occur. The reason I say this is because I once spent a couple of days with a 12A that boiled within 5 miles. Radiator out and everything. Someone had put 2 prong Champion plugs in it; which I believe advanced it to where pinking would have given me a clue on a reciprocating car!
Its a theory, no more.
oh it can :) and when it does occur it tends to kill apex seals in short order.
OK, must have been another attribute of the duff plugs.
Yes Mike the knock monitor i\'ve gone for has the ability to filter the signal and a 0-5volt linear output i intend to wire it into the Haltec for auto ignition retard on excessive knock levels plus data loggin.

You\'ve been drinking beer again havent you Kev, coz that sounds pretty clever what you\'ve just typed:guinness :guinness :guinness :guinness
clever little widget isn\'t it, uses the ignition trim circuit on the haltech to pull ignition timing when the knock goes over a certain value. Did you get the one from the chap on the US forum? is it good?
