Title: Apexi FC Boost
Post by: Rocho on June 18, 2007, 06:02:01 PM
I was running on the stock ECU and the boost was approx 0.3Bar which I believe is normal.

A few days ago I installed an Apexi FC and reset it to the base map. Its running much better than before but I\'m only boosting to approx 0Bar.

I didn\'t think that that ECU controlled the level of boost? Isn\'t that done by a boost controller (which I dont have?)

The ECU does control the amount of boost that you see. The boost controller just controls it better as that is all that its doing. Some are better than others.

You should be seeing .8bar (10psi) boost on a stock/base map car.

The stock ECU controls the stock boost solenoid which resides in the rats nest , when u replace with an Apexi ECU a tuner can raise boost ussing the stock solenoid up to 12 psi anymore and the stock solenoid has problems with boost creep, overboosting etc thats when you need an aftermarket boost controller

That controls the boost, the map sensor reads the boost levels.
