Here\'s a couple of pic\'s of the first gen 7\'s in our collection.
The wide arch car is pretty much stock but the rally car on the other hand has a 13b pp motor and runnin ford 4wd system.

Yeah we could source a kit either. That one is made up from a manta 400 kit.

we changed the wheels lately to these revolutions.

Yeah we spent quite a bit on the rally car lately.
New engine, brakes, exhaust etc. We where also gonna go 6 speed sequential but will keep it for the new project.

wow thats a fine bit of engineering :)

is that steering rack I spy too, and you are using the ford struts with the standard FB top mounts at the front? are you still running a mazda axle at the back?

Very nice !

Yeah it uses a ford alloy crossmember coupled to group N cosworth struts. The steering rack is also took from the cosworth and has a adopted 2nd gen power steering pump running all this.
At the rear end we\'re using an Atlas full floating axle fitted with ZF diff and rose jointed tramp bars.
Ford transmission was only used cause easy obtained and well proven in rallyin.

cool, plenty of tried and tested parts being used there then! must be relatively bullet proof.

I am intrigued with the exhaust and sump setup, how is the exhaust routed, looks like it goes out under the wheel arch area to clear the front propshaft/diff. How is the sump done? I have a similar clearance problem on my 323 requiring a "unique" sump design ... is it far enough forward to be infront of a modded sump pan or is it somthing more exotic like a dry sump or just a clever wet sump design?

Hope you don\'t mind all the questions, it\'s great to see something so different.

We\'re using a standard Rx4 sump as the engine sits behind the front diff/ axle tube. This gives us near perfect weight distribution. The front axle tube is a one off because cosworths use there sump as an axle tube.
The exhaust has 25 1/5 inch headers and follows the same path as a stocker and sits nicely beside the transfer box.
The last two years we\'ve had problems passing the sound test but got round this by having a muffler the full width across the back of the car. Its now sitting at 107db at test rpm\'s. SWEET:Thumbs-up
