ok after a few weeks of selling stuff and saving beans. ive finally managed to afford the respray and i decided to ditch the crappy faded red nastyness of my FD, its in primer at the minute and its back tomorrow evening, ive gone for a complete colour change.
i havent been able to sleep properly all week as im dead nervous of how it will turn out! and the fact the car isnt on my driveway just feels wierd.
ill update the thread when i get it back. keep your fingers crossed that the jobs a good un!

the car is acutally painted, it needs flatting and putting back together. ill have it back tomorrow night the guy says. ive got a couple of pics of it in the final colour... but i dont think they show the colour off well. ill take some proper pics tomorrow.

a lot of work has gone into the car, the front bumper has had to be reglassed on the bottom, due to me hittin the curb with it. the guy told me not to hit anymore!
Steve that blue is nice, so is that purple Gurj (defo not satin black - although might spray the interior that colour) theres a red mica that looks good too. ive gone for one of these colours - it wasnt easy to choose between them.
i think i have made the right choice.....
Know what ya mean by lots of work, As iv dun 2 FD\'s myself now, one only last week, was a standard silver so not much work compaired to mine.
Fitted and sprayed mi bumber last bank holiday, took me 2 days to fit the bumper correctly.
Your car will undoutedly look amazing as the last time i sore it was nostal priory and it was a little faded then.
Cant wait to see it in the flesh Next weekend on the 24th m8 :)

haha yeah, i remember that at nostell priory - we parked up for show and shine the guy who was marking the cars didnt even bother to take a look at mine LOL.
i think it will be a different story after respray!! on the 24th? oh yeah - japfest. i think ive dropped a bollock here!!! hopefully theres one stand pass left!

heres a couple of pics, they dont really show the colour off well... it looks 10x better in real life.
ill have to wait for some sunshine tomorrow to get some proper pictures. after we had finished puttin it back together it had gone dark.
i still have to find the time to spray my interior plastics as they are still red. all in all tho im dead chuffed with how its turned out. now all i need to do is lower the coilovers a bit and give it a bloody good clean! the colour is called Mazda Stormy Blue comes on the new mx5s and its a limited edition colour on \'07 rx8\'s
to illustrate the mica effect I got a torch and shined it over the paint, you can see how it flips to electric blue with silver flecks.

Looks nice but you should have clayed it then polished it then waxed it with 2 coats! Best get the dash done asap

damn!!! thats far too much work for fresh paint. my phone is so crap i need to get my hands on a digi cam! the car looks 10000X better in the flesh!
the dash im planning on doin tomorrow night.
gotta adjust my coilovers to make it a bit lower i think
