Post by: gtirtrack on June 16, 2007, 01:54:28 PM
hi every1 im new to the forum and looking for an rx7 gen3. i have had a wide range of cars and now its time for a bit of rotary action lol. i have just got rid of my 400hp pulsar gtir and have a buring wad of cash in my pocket lol. now im gonna look for a goodun. basically which model is the 1 to go for. basically i want the fastest and lightest one really as i always end up stripping out everythin i dont need anyway. is there a lightweight model, or 1 with a close ratio gearbox etc. i dont want any mod cons, its simply to go as fast as possible lol.
what should i look out for when looking for an rx7, i dont really wanna buy 1 which aint had a rebuild, so how do i tell if the rebuild is up to standards lol. any advise in general when lookin for an rx7 would be much appriecated. cheers. nick j:Thumbs-up

for rebuilds check reciepts and check where they got the work done.
there are many well known builders so you should have no problem finding out from these engine builders if they have actually rebuilt the car.

I wouldn\'t worry too much about which model you get, I think the only one that is any lighter or with extra performance mods as stock is the type rb or rz, and you will pay a premium for those models. Most cars out there are type r or r2 i think, and there are some seriously quick ones going around, most people probably dont even know or remember what model they have, once a few mods go on, you won\'t care! :)
