Title: suspension again,
Post by: ro284 on June 16, 2007, 01:28:57 PM
I have Cusco fully adjustable units with tein springs, i am very happy with the ride, but when i adjust to get the ride height perfect, i need to raise the front say 8mill, just a little too low as it is, the rear needs to come down about 10 mill, all of which is very easy, my thoughts are as i never have a passenger, (dont know why!) it\'s only me in the car, my question is to compensate for my 13 stone weight, should i counteract this unbalance by preloading the springs by say 3 mill higher on the drivers side? views please,
Cheers Bob

Thats what i\'m wondering! so do i find a 13 stone passenger or few bags of cement on that side? i hope to get the suspention setup with lazers and stuff, but if i have that done the way i think of it as soon as you get in the car, you upset all the settings done by the specialist! by adding unbalanced weight, i-e: me, so it will be perfect as long as i don\'t sit in it! the only advantage to that is it is potentially a faster car as it\'s lighter :3Confused

That is what corner weigthing is when you setup a race car. You adjust the spring perches to allow for the different weigths of each corner of the car. It really needs to be done proplry with the car on scales though, rather than taking a guess.
