Title: Ho much is my block worth??
Post by: Jim_rx7 on June 15, 2007, 10:39:49 PM
How much is my block worth with possibly an apex seal gone, or a tip. (currently unsure).

It would be the block, flywheel, power steering pump, water pump. I think that\'s it. Also, all the pulleys are on the front.

I\'ve got a new one here which I\'ll be tranferring everything to.

thanks in advance.

Sorry, that block is my new one, but that\'s what\'ll be left on the one that\'s for sale.

lmao...

It didn\'t overheat and no compression test has been done.

I did put a vid up a few weeks ago. It was suggested it was an apex seal or tip that had gone.

The block had 100K miles on it. It had defo been out in the past (can tell from taking it out this time), but don\'t know what was done to it when it was out.

If nobody wants it here, I might swap it for parts or ebay it.

Its a hell of a drive, but if no-one offers you money, I will come and collect it. Perhaps I could strip yours and mine, and make a good one again! (mine overheated)

If you want some advise, Price up how much it would be to Courier it. As has already been said alot will be put off by the fact your so out of the way.

The going rate for a Blown FD engine (apex seal on one rotor) is aprox £300 people tend to steer away from Cooked motors because they Warp and Rotors can contact plates etc (do alot of damage) where as Apex damage is usaly a Rotor and a Housing (Oviously changed in pairs). BTW you can tell a Cooked motor by taking the Sump off and checking the colour of the bottoms of the Rotor housings (the darker the burnt on oil is the hotter they have got)

Have you looked into stripping it and selling it in parts? there is a bit going for this (Shipping is easyer and people can see the condition of the parts before handing over there money ;))

Well if we say £60 pallet delivery just for an idea.

I have considered stripping it down and seling it, but for me, it would be easier selling it as is.

The engine was not cooked to my knowlege. Like I said, it\'s assumed that it was a seal failure, or it\'s lost a tip.

I\'d take £300 inc delivery if anyone\'s interested?

it would seem my rx7 would be worth more in bits than if i sold the whole car! the prices there coming up for on fleebay and in the trader are pretty dier, i hope theres some groupe price pushing like the ford rs turbo owners have done at one time they were worth 1500quid or scrap but now there \'classic\' there going for much more esp the series one, there was one by me that sold for 6k and at the end of the day its a rusty old ford... i think i might put mine in the trader for 10k and begine the pledge to hike the value of our supercars.

£300 inc postage and that\'s reasonable. Damaged engines can sell for quite a bit more.
