See if anyone can shed some light on this;
Whilst I was stuck in heavy traffic recently on the M27 (~2hrs crawling 500yds) on a hot day oil temps and and water temps went just under 100, however worringly I started to get sporadic plumes of grey smoke from the exhausts. When I checked levels, coolant fine but oil had disappeared up in smoke literally! Subsequent normal driving and checks revealed normal levels again. So what went on?
I do have some error codes, but they\'re always there with the piggyback ecu and the fcon (temp sensor,injector sensors, exhaust baffle sensor). No omp codes though.
I didn\'t go into limp home mode as far as I\'m aware although maybe the fcon would negate any attempts by the stockish ecu to do this.
Thoughts gladly received

Hi Jon,
Well apart from the the obvious thing,that is selling the car to me(That would alleviate you of any further problems!)
No,seriously though,I think that the car would have been getting too hot,that can make the engine expand too much,and then oil easily get\'s past the oil control rings.
Check when the fans are coming on,and check that they are still working too.

I assume the fan set-up and operation is slightly different in the cosmo compared to the fd? The aftermarket gauges didn\'t get too high but I suppose they only show part of the story (if they\'re accurate).
The offer still stands, but You\'ll have to wait just a little longer before you get your mits on it.
Cheers Jon
