I think lumpy idle and a lot of smoke is a tell tale sign too?

yeah a small bit of smoke is normal mate, why do you think it may need a rebuild? whats the symptoms? if there is no smoke, and it idles fine and it starts hot or cold, it sounds fine??

it starts first time every time its just it was in my garage getiing a make over and the battery kept going flat i was told the battery is gubbed but it starts in the morning all the time but if i have the sterio on for more that 5 minutes it wont start, when i drive it and drop down into neutral the revs dipp right don and then even its self out and the past couple of mornings it starts and runs for a couple of minute then cuts out but i could do that the next couple of weeks and its fine, its weard is my battery gubbed of my engine

doesnt sound like your engine mate, would say its your battery or alternator if its not charging the battery. Not sure about the revs dipping though? although if your battery really is buggered it would certainly make the car run like crap.

Try changing the battery and see how you get on? have u changed the spark plugs recently?

I`m no mechanic though so dont take what i`m saying as gospel lol.

dont panic though, doesnt sound like rebuild time at all.
