Wheres the best place to tap a wiring feed for my lighting and 12v switched ignition for my guages?

battery :)  just feed a wire through.

or you could take it from the back of the stereo ?

If I take it directly from the battery won\'t that be 12v constant as opposed to switched ignition?

Yep, it\'ll be constant, plus you need to put a fuse in that link. Or carry a fire extinguisher...

I took all the feeds for my gauges from the stereo. Except for the line that switches when the lights are on...for that I used the glove compartment light.
