Title: Time to get her painted
Post by: silverdevill on June 10, 2007, 09:37:07 PM
Anyone know roughly how much i\'m looking at for a full respray?, nothing flash, thought i\'d go for a simple factory colour as its easier to match up in future i\'m told. I really like the championship white i keep seeing integras in but can\'t find out a code for it. Alternitively, is there anyone on here who is a competent car painter who could help me out?. cheers.

she\'s midnight purple at the moment, if it were to work out cheaper to keep her that colour then thats no problem.

for the same colour, blow over, i would expect to pay £800 with my bodyshop and they would also take out any imperfections. for a colour change a lot more depending on how far you wanted to go i.e door shuts, engine bay etc

That sounds cheap to me if it\'s a good finish.

yeah it is cheap but at the end of the day i put a lot of work his way and he does me a good deal.

i have seen him working on a tvr 350c and porsche 911 in the past few weeks as well as various other modded cars and his work is always very good

Yep, it has been around the northwest for quite a while, i think Adrian (eatmyrx7dust) did most of the Work on it (inc the repaint) and yes it was Black  origanaly. I know adrian loved the car and kept it Imaculate but i belive it got abused by the guy who bought it off him.

Being a Painter myself i often wounder why people just get a quick repaint, i know there is a money issue involved but adding a thick paint film will make it ALOT easyer to stone chip, plus Fiberglass does\'nt help ither (it does\'nt flex like the std Plastic bumber so it doers\'nt take a Stone impact at 100mph very well)

Thats why i\'ve always bare metal\'d my cars when there getting repainted (only way to go)

in what way was she abused? do you mean neglected as in not looked after or thrashed engine wise?:3Confused

Abused is proberly the wrong word, Neglected is more like it, Adrian was a bit of a Fanatic, i don\'t think i ever saw it Dirty or in need of anything. I would say the Guy who owned it directy after Adrian (not Travis the guy who you bought it off) was young and Could\'nt spend time and Money on it to keep it as it was Accustomed, i think he did\'nt own it long but put some stone chips on it in that time ;)

Yeh its a shame, the car was realy outstanding when it was in Adrians hands, Its unfortunatly a case of Fiberglass Bumpers too.

Just be a bit carfull, often GRP or Carbon kits need a bit of Messing to make fit properly, this is why you only see bare Carbon kits put on by there Manufacture.

Just be a little carfull buying without seeing or test fitting it first.

But all said i have heard Carbon creations are quite good (but i\'ve never bought anything off them)
