Pity you can\'t just stick a cover over her and take her off the road until you can afford to run it.
I run a £300 ford fiesta as a daily runner so i can keep the FD in the garage :( , but i do have a modeo V6 st24 as well :D .
THATS JUST IT chaps i cant jst stick a cover over her an leave her in the corner it just wouldnt be right !!! i cant just drive a crap old banger about from day to day its just not me , im pretty much sure i will regeat every minute of selling it , got the missus to drive it today so i could follow in her car to to look how beautiful it is lol , worse still went to a bit of a cruise tonite an people were all over it sayin how extreme it is !!! also met a few other rex 7 owners at it an got chatting random stuff and that was puttin me in two mind ????? well its up for sale now on autotrader an ebay so will just have to see how it goes ???

problem is ive had several show cars which ive garaged up for weekend/show use in the past and it ends up just being a hassle , a car to me isnt just a means of getting from A to B its a status symbol and apart from my house thats all ive ever really gone to work for so to just leave it in a garage an not see where all my hard earnt money was going on a daily basis would upset me and id end up just selling it anyways .

So true!! That\'s why I don\'t think I would ever be able to sell my Rex... My daily driver is a Golf 1.6, its slow as a snail and there are times when I\'m driving to and from work when I wish I had the Rex (when some idiot wants to race). But then I always think to myself I don\'t care because I\'ve got a beast of a car sitting at home and I know she would kick your a$$....lol
The Rex also keeps me going through the week as I know come the weekend I can take her out for a blast :burnout

When I used to have an Exige, I used to drive it every day for the reasons you said and that it was an excellent car... However I found the more I drove it, the less "special" it felt, it just because the normal, run to work, run back, sit in some traffic etc...
...I ended up getting a diesel Xantia (needed to tow and it was £400), which I still have and drive to the station, normally sat in traffic ;) But then when you get back into a "special" car it\'s sooo much better! Gives you that buzz again like when you first got it :D
And there nothing like practising lines in something wallowing and slow to then have them spot on for a bit (a lot!) more speed and power!

i agree just a car at the end of the day. no point breaking your back trying to keep her. i sold mine the other week and although regretted it a tad, the money in my pocket certainly cheered me up and also help finance my supra :D

its not that i dont find it special or boring amymore i just cant afford it or afford to have 2 cars even a ratter to knock around in plus ive got a problem where as i can no longer fly to go on holidays abroad (barefoot waterskiing accident) so therefore id like a car which i can gladly jump in an tour france/spain wherever without it costing the small fortune the rex would ! im kind of im a no win situation lol ive owned 36 differant cars in 10 years and ive gotta say this is the most painfull ever cause i love it to bits and the attension it get and know that whatever route i go down next nothing will have the WOW factor of it !!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean... I can see it, but just I\'ve started to "run" a second car, I\'ve spent about £200 on the Xantia over about 3 years so can\'t complain ;)
But I hear what you\'re saying, I\'d love to head to the south of France in the FD but it would cost a fortune! Party why I\'m tempted by a smart Roadster... A bit ghay maybe, but 80 bhp is enough to rag the hell out of it and still keep you license! And the 50 odd mpg appeals as well :D

I\'ve just got myself a £600 BMW 318i to do the daily drive and stuff. I\'m now driving the Rex about two or three times a week and it amazes me everytime I drive it. I\'m saving at least £100 a month in fuel. I\'d only ever sell it if I owned atleast two other rexs, one brand spanking one and one stripped out racer.

when I first started seeing the Mrs she kept on at me about my Ducati, It only comes out in the summer and I met her just after the summer ended so for the first six months it sat under a cover in the garage, she couldnt understand why I kept something that lived in th garage 9 months of the year.
First Sunny day I put the rear pegs and seat back on and took her out on it.
Now she understands lol
Were currently on the lookout for a nice FD and when we find one we both like, that will be like the Ducati, something to be enjoyed on sunny days.
I appreciate that not everyone is in the position to do the same as us and I know how hard it is to give up something that you have fallen in love with.

i bought a polo for £200 its so **** its entertaining to drive!!! it never breaks down, uses hardly any fuel, tax is 60 quid a year and it passed its MOT flying colours, insurance about 20 quid a month. less than a quarter the average daily driven FD uses in fuel!!!! thats where all the money is goin. FUEL
if you wanna go drive around France, get a hire car, that way if andre in france drives into it, you wont care.
My FD has had much time and money spent on it. id never sell mine, the monetary LOSS is not greater than the feeling of self loathing I will have to endure in a "its nice" normal car. trust me, id rather have a $hitter and an "awsome" car.

its not so much the fuel ,even tho its my daily i only do about 30 miles per week if that lol its other things like the other day i had to borrow a car to take my missus and her friend out for a meal !!!! little things like that , yeah its nice to have a supercar in the garage but sometimes it like it should be on the mantle piece cause its that useless lol

if i could find a rex with a dead engine id put a cdti ford diesel lump in it on a sierra box, i know it would be like going out with pam anderson and paying her to have a willie attached but just imagine all the hassle care free driving at 50mpg, running on cooking oil but still have a petrol one at home for when u need to go mad... my problem is i need to go mad on a regular basis

yeah the graphics all come off mate , they are even special ones that are semi transparrent so the paint under them fades with the rest of the car !! i cant email im afraid but you can message me through ebay listing or phone /text on 07815143638 ,kev
