Post by: Teighto on June 09, 2007, 07:29:31 PM
Right then Changed all the Pads on the Front\'s

now ive just come to sort the rears out and i cant compress the piston anymore ???  they are not seized as when i press the brake pedel they come out and i can push back in to the same position,
any ideas as to what i can do to get the piston bit back a bit further so i can get them back on :D

remove the brake servo cap but wrap it in a clothe cus it will overflow when you push the piston in

right just been doing a bit of reading form some old posts and apparently the rear caliper pistons need turning back in, and a special tool is needed !!

thanks

You need to turn the rear calipers clockwise, you can either get a universal tool from almost any motor factors or just use long nose pliers if your careful.

They\'re a bit of a bugger, but when you get going on them, they go in ok. I ended up using a spanner in them for the leverage.

Chris, you dont really need a special tool for this, either a pair of stilsons (sp?) or a 15mm spanner and a long screw driver. ;)
