Title: Bilsteins
Post by: Initial-D on January 24, 2004, 11:08:53 PM
Can anyone help me out as I\'m going to get some Bilsteins fitted onto my FD but I wanted to know:

1: How are they adjusted and is it incremental like presets or fully adjustable?

2: How low/high in mm can they be adjusted?

3: How much harder are they than the "Hard" suspension of the Type R?

Has anyone got some on their car? How do they compare to the standard "Hard" setup? Better at cornering and general road holding?

Thanks for your help.

Ben :)

What model Bilsteins are you going to have fitted?

Then we might be able to give more answers. ;)

I have some on mine. I have not driven the car for 6 months and I do not know exactly what model they are. What I can say is that they are superb. The one thing that I could really rate on my car is the suspension. Perfect damping not to hard and not to soft. I\'ll just have to see if it is still good with 500bhp+!

To be honest I don\'t think they can be adjusted! Not that I\'ve seen anything on mine to suggest it.  Nothing on the top to adjust and no obvious way of changing the ride height either.

It does handle well, but then I\'ve not been in many standard RX\'s to compare!!

Had them fitted and the ride is much harder than the standard dampers.

The car hardly budges when I step on the sills!! A worthwhile purchase!!:D

Although on a minus side certain roads really do make ya jump around in your seat! So much so I had to remove my spoiler as it was cracking under the strain!!
