Hi guys, after a somewhat succesfull mapping session at ReWorx today, (thanks guys if any of you read this) i am having some ignition breakdown and have been advised to go the HKS Twin Power route, unfortunately funds dont allow at present so just wondering if i have any other options or a temporary solution??
drill a few more holes and get a few more plugs in :)
run less boost, not much else you can do really.
Cool, thanks guys, never really knew this was an issue, so its a bit new to me and just trying to get clued up on it, looks like i will be saving up for an HKS Twin Power then. Thanks
More than likely to be the type of plug you are using. Are you using the ngk bur9eqp as most fd\'s i tune have break up with these plugs fitted and the breakup vanishes when i fit egv\'s.
I am afraid to say i am not too sure buddy, they were whatever was in the car when i bought it. The guys are going to check them tomorrow however as first port of call. Could you elaborate on egv\'s please as i have not heard of them either?
There classed as a race plug need changing a little more often but are a great plug I\'ve been using them for a year or so without issues. The Aussies use them extensively in a lot of big HP motors rather than the mega expensive iridium plugs.
Regards Kevin
So where can we get hold of these from and how much...i had an exact problem with mine when Jay was mapping the car. Now got the amp and she feels much better so before go for another run i would change the plugs and see....:burnout
Clive can get them not sure about the other advertisers or you can get them online here http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk (http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk)
Kevin
I got mine from the above ^^
Looks like a good site, so which is the plug recommended?
Engine alright in the end then Jon? Any figures to show us? :)
Still not 100% sure buddy, it is still smoking a lot, but bearing in mind it it hasnt been driven since i collected it from you, it still may be oil deposits in the exhaust, well thats what i am hoping anyway! As for power, it made 350 rwhp and then i started to loose fuel pressure and ignition was breaking down! Its a new Bosch 044 so shouldnt be any problems that side, Reworx are running a direct supply to the fuel pump as possibilities that alarm has been wired into it and plugs have been changed now so going for Round 2 tomorrow! Keep you posted!
Good show, what\'s the rest of your spec? Turbo/porting. Any ideas why you were losing fuel pressure? Do you have an adjustable fpr?
T78, streetport, v mount, 1500 secondaries, apexi etc No idea why i am loosing fuel pressure, i have an adjustable fpr, bosch 044, all new. The guys said it may be the posssibility that the alarm is wired into the fuel pump and cuasing voltage drop!

Depends what heat range you want b9egv for stockish b10egv or b11egv for modified
Kevin
Thanks Kev, think the guys have put those plugs in now and they are 10\'s, so all being well, i might get a few more ponies now!
One thing you will need to grind down the socket you use to fit these plugs as they sit within the case area of the plug hole. It only takes a couple of minutes if you\'ve access to a bench grinder take about 3mm of the outside of the socket to the point it is about breaking through on the corners. Don\'t worry about the socket walls opening out as the casing keeps them in position.
