on the way back from Bluewater heading towards erith. Porsche boxster (new shape) comes right behind me and thinks he can make me move over to the left, not happening! I was in 5th and doing about 55, tried to floor it but wasn\'t a good idea lol. It was about a 1.5 mile stretch before a round about so went down to 3rd about 40mph around the round about, I was still in the right lane and he was now in the left lane. I was about half a car length infront and he kept up for about 200 yards then I changed to 4th and by the time i got to 5th he was about 7-8 car lenghts behind, he even waved! (probably to say sorry lol) :wave
By the way i was changing at 6k revs, I think I would have left him for dead if I pushed abit further! Didn\'t realise the new Porsche Boxster was so slow!
ALL boxsters are slow!!! The problem is that most boxster drivers don\'t realise they are NOT driving a 911 :rollin
ive done loads of (hairdressers) in their boxsters, they must feel embarased getting caned of an old 1993 car!!!
never under estimate rotary power no matter what you drive!!!
my mates got a 911 turbo and my last fd would keep up with it until I backed of because we where reaching silly speeds, I had to warm the tyres up a bit on quiet slip road on the motorway though!!

I guess he was just thinking his brand new Boxster would walk all over the RX7. But mine is all stock, no way is it keeping up with a 911 let alone a 911 turbo.

I used to have boxsters in my EGI - they are not a challenge :D
Souped up Cosworths - now they are a challenge for an EGI, that was the day I decided I needed either more rotors or a snail strapped to the exhaust :Giggle

I was doing 70mph the Porsche was struggling at 69mph, and i pulled away ever so slowly :rollin :rollin :rollin
stomped all over a cosi 4x4 and a merc amg superchargered thingy lol
was on way to knockhill wont mention speeds but all i will say is guy gave me repect at the gates of konkhill asking wht i was putting out lol

It\'s even better when you don\'t have to race, Porsche Cayman sat behind me on the M1 on Tuesday, I dropped to 4th and blipped it just for a second or two and he pulled into the middle lane rather than be embarassed by me.
Plenty of other cars that would probably spank my ar$e just sit behind me thinking, \'that thing is capable of showing me up\' but they don\'t know what you\'re running so they don\'t want to chance it :)

I managed to pace a 911 without any real issues last year on a track, he was looking in the rear view mirror to see what was keeping up...... Mine\'s vertualy stock too!!!

My business partner has an 02 reg porsche boxster S, its respectable, but my rex is easily faster, he even admitted it when he drove mine, he also clipped the hedge with the rear end round a bend, *******!!!
my old cossie would eat my RX7 on the straight but as soon as you come to a bend a 2wd cosworth is pants. Tyres are too thin design is older than the rx7 and its probably full of rust unless its a well looked after 3door or RS500.
i actually liked driving a boxter felt very stable but i like the right foot steering with the arse end in the rex :D
Arn\'t the Boxster S 300 gee-gees or there abouts? There\'s millions of them around here these days. Not really competition but worth it for a laugh as they are cheaper so the owners might be up for a laugh. I love Porsche (or any other expensive new car) baiting but I\'m often aware that Mike Money in his £100k supercar isn\'t going to bother racing another jap upstart :-) Its great when they will though.

I was behind a ford probe around ty croes and to be honest its the worst handling car I have ever seen!! he was coasting around corners with the rear wheel lifting 3 " of the ground at very very slow speeds around every corner holding everything up. even the little 950cc minis where embarasing him!!
they are pants and hold everyone up on track days!! they should all be banned from all tracks!!!

Lol I know, They were designed with the American market in mind. Great for a long drive tho (well the MX6 is not so sure about the probe as the seats are different)

Well, we just laugh about them, my mate has a MkII MR2 and we keep calling each others cars a Ford Probe ;)
But a MR2 from the front does look so similar!
But I digress, back to the a$$ whooping stories! I did have a play with a SL55 AMG on the way back from Silverstone the other week, but we both kept it kinda sensible so was quite cool really.
When I feel the need for a good blast I find this does the job rather well lol

...and how good was the driver? Maybe first time on the track? Don\'t judge an entire range of cars from one experience with it, rx7club.com is full of people like that.
