Title: clunk clunck from rear...
Post by: FD3SNuttah on June 04, 2007, 11:48:39 AM
i went for a burn last night, me verses a GTO, subaru and a skyline gtst, along the way a lotus esperit tried joining in, and he got OWNED big time haha.. even the slow as hell gts-t managed to get round him!

of course we were all pretty evenly matched. but when cornering hard to keep up with the 4x4\'s i kept hearing a loud clunk coming from the rear of my car. but only on extremely hard cornering, its a very loud bang actually,  it does it on right and left handers.

not really got much experience but i am thinking diff mounts maybe?  or should i be looking elsewhere? any help appreciated of course!

They\'re about £50 each and there are 6 of them :o (don\'t worry it should only be one, possibly 2 that need replacing!)

I\'ve got a knackered one somewhere and I haven\'t sorted it yet :2Confused they\'re not to hard to change once you\'ve found which one (a couple of hours I reckon)

I\'m led to believe the best way to find which one is shafted is to put the car on jacks and wiggle the wheel around looking for which one has play in it

Page R-33 of the suspension section of the manual :Thumbs-up

Could be the diff is in the early stages of letting go?! Any other symptoms?
