Title: Not sure if this is good or bad??

Umm can i pick a few peoples brains just driven back from jts silverstone and let the girlfriend take the wheel for second half of journey so i was playing with pfc checking temps etc and realised that cruising at 70 in 5th water temp was down to 63 air temp 24 air oil temp 50 ish ?? i hav a radtec v-mount , c-west front bumper and standard bonnet , if we came to a stop the temp would rise to 85 after around 3 minutes then fans come in as usual ..
Was out mapping the car yesterday when it was very hot and water temp stayed at 85 constant,, with my water temp being so low i belive it is telling the ecu its cold and putting cold start on?? is it ok for it to run at these temps and should we adj map to bring the cold start of at say 50??

That\'s an extremely low temp. Not right at all. Perhaps the thermostat is stuck open, or sticking open. I would suggest trying to figure out why the temps got so low, as opposed to trying to work round it.

wiped the thermostat out seems to be opening and closing ok while i tested it, but not going to risk it and ordered a new one ,, cant be anything else

The only other thing it could be is a poor temp sensor, poor wiring, or ECU/Commander issue.

my stand alone gauge is reading same temps so can count all those out got to be thermostat:Talking1

Can\'t see anything else then: I agree, must be stat. The rubber maybe poor, and leaked water past perhaps? But, no matter, you have ordered a new one, so should come with new rubber.

How she feel now then? All going well?

i dont like to admit it but her control of my paddle clutch puts me to shame!! and theres a very very slim chance of getting caught speeding,, lol :Snoring
