Title: useless heater
Post by: JohnP on June 01, 2007, 10:37:18 AM
anyone elses in car heating crap?  Mine takes about 4 miles to blow anything recogniseable to hot air :P

un-usual for someone to moan about an FD not getting hot enough huh :)

Also, i heard the horrid *add coolant* alarm for the first time yesterday. I checked the coolant level and it was fine really...but topped up a little anyway.  I\'ve just fitted a HKS induction kit and was wondering where u guys run a cold air feed? at current i dont have one bar whatever was in the bay originally.  I cant see where i could get away with running a duct. pics please!  Rest of the bay is stock.

Does the car get up to temp OK? And does it blow hot once it\'s up to temp?

Sounds pretty normal to me ;)

Wish my heaters would blow hot within 4 mile!!!
Could be an air lock in the system if your heaters aren\'t blowing hot & the buzzer suddenly coming on!!

LOL!

But if you think about it, your heaters heat is from the engine coolant. So only once the temperature gauage starts to go up will it start to blow warm and then hot once it\'s up to temp.

Also a good tip, if a car is overheating and you can\'t stop straight away (in any car) then turn the heaters up to full and the fans on full bore to help remove some of the heat (also good to open the windows at this point too ;) ).
