Title: Tyre widths?
Post by: probedb on May 30, 2007, 09:58:32 AM
A change from the usual offset questions :)

I\'m going 18x9.5 all round (getting Feed wide front arches) and just wondering what tyre sizes I should look at.

Normally front and rear wheels would be different widths but not now so what should I go for, same width (255?) all round?

Cheers!

Paul.

i\'d go for 235 front and 255 or 265 rear. not sure if you could go even wider on the front though?

235\'s may be a little pulled over a 9.5" rim, i\'d be tempted to buy a pair of 255\'s for the back and try them on the front (see if they rub etc) if they catch buy some 235\'s

But if you are using 9.5\'s all round it would be nice to keep it Ballanced (same width tyres all round)

Cheers guys. I think I might go for 255s all round and see what they\'re like.

Just been checking and you can get 245/35s as well so going to go for them on the front and 255/35 on the rear. They both give me almost exactly 60mph at 60mph :) The fronts being slightly narrower should lose some of the risk of rubbing....might need 10mm spacers on the front anyways with the wheels i want as they only do them in a 35mm offset and Feed recommend 24mm offset with 9.5s.
