Title: Which gaskets do I need??
Post by: Jim_rx7 on May 28, 2007, 09:11:58 PM
Well I have a new block coming for my car next week.

The engine will be coming out and everything swapped from my block to the new one.

What gaskets will I all need and how much is this likely gonna cost me? Also, where would I get them from??

I have also PM\'D clive as suggested by another member.

The block will have the following attached....

Exhaust manifold + internal wastegate.
Water pump
PAS pump
Spark plugs

The chap I\'m buying from said I will need all the intake manifold gaskets at about £30-40.

Does this sound about right? Any others I\'m likely to need?

Anyone got part numbers etc and prices?

thanks

Why not ring round the advertisers [banners at the top] talk to them, seek advice and prices - then you can compare.

right then...so you wont need the exhaust manifold to block gaskets or thermostat housing to block gasket.....
I can see you needing the two turbo pack gaskets...these are over a ton fifty for the pair so you might want to reuse your old ones if they are good. Then next you will need the downpipe gasket unless you plan to reuse that too. You might wanna reuse your ypipe-turbo pack gaskets as these dont normally go wrong.
You will prolly need a new LIM gasket and a new UIM gasket...dunno how good your injector o-rings will be iethe rand they are cheap enough so you might wanna change these. otherwise id say that covers it..

if youve got the cash burning a hole in your pocket, then change the throttle body gasket, the water filler neck gasket and the ACV gaskets which is what I did...assuming you have an acv.

I bought all my parts from super7autos... //www.super7autos.co.uk   easily the best price i could find for a uk supplier and he has a good supply in stock.

First of all, I don\'t have cash burning a hole in my pocket! lol.

So I need....

Turbo pack gaskets (possibly re-use old ones)
Downpipe Gasket
LIM Gasket
UIM Gasket
Injector o-rings

That it? Any idea on a rough price for them all??

Jim, PM me, I have all 8 injector o-rings, brand new. You\'re also best replacing the injector insulators while you\'re at it.

Can\'t sort till this weekend tho.

Download yourself a service manual and parts manual, both invaluable to see what you\'re replacing/buying.

I got all mine from Malloy Mazda in the US, very cheap.

Jason from Super 7 Autos got back to me this morning...

turbo pack gaskets in stock, £87.00 for the pair.
Downpipe gasket is currently not in stock but on order and is 36.10.
Upper intake gasket is 14.36(not in stock)
lower intake gasket 15.87 and in stock.

That\'s not too bad! I\'ll see if I can get away with re-using the turbo pack gaskets depending on condition.
