Title: microtech mtx ecu on fd
Post by: stuart wizy on May 28, 2007, 02:35:33 PM
how is everyone? ive not logged on here for some time due to being well busy at work.
here goes-
ive rebuilt my fd and run it in on std ecu,
I have a microtech ecu with hand controler, software and download cable for my fc drag car which isnt finished yet so thought what the hell, use it on my fd and learn a bit of diy mapping for when i finish my drag car.
I have a spare standard ecu which im going to scrap to get the block plug, I plan to solder up a loom to this plug via the microtech hence being able to reuse std ecu back in the fd without cutting and snipping wires.
I have the microtech wiring diagram, all I need is a diagram of what each pin is on the standard engine loom ecu plugs to wire it up using all the original ecu loom plugs.
I dont plan on tuning the seeds out of my fd by the way, just a bit more boost and water Injection basicly just to learn how to use the software.
does anyone have a link anywhere with this information??
many thanks
stu

is the microtech setup correctly for an FD ignition system ? I was of the understanding that they were quite inflexible in that regard and had to be setup from the factory for a specific ignition setup

on the manual it says it can be used for fd and fc slight difference in wiring. there are 2 wiring diagrams 1 for fd 1 for fc in the wiring manual.
I found a link with all pin wires labeled up on the std ecu plugs but seem to have lost it!
cheers

When you get the mircotech you need:

The loom harness
coils
ECU or course
and the X4 ignition module

And they are friggin awsome :chat

The microtech isn\'t plug and play you normally replace the full engine wiring loom.

Drop Microtech a email i\'m sure they will have a pinout diagram

You may need to return it to microtech as the base map for the FD is different from the FC

The Microtech can be \'plug and play\',you just need the adaptor to plug into the standard loom.I have done a couple of FD\'s this way,no chopping of wires, just plug in.
You will find the ignition timing and dwell are set different between the FD and the FC.
