Title: Uprated Fuelpump install
Post by: chrno on May 22, 2007, 11:05:04 AM
Hi guy\'s,

Have been searching the forum for a day and a half now in search of a fuelpumpchangehowto with no luck at all..

On my last silvia, I just unscrewed the top of the tank and lifted out the whole pump assembly, is it the same on this tank?

I have figured out that the hole is under the rear mat somewhere but that shouldn\'t be too much of a hustle to find.

Are there any other things to think about,or any known problems.
Otherwise I will get started right away.

Thanks in advance.

Daniel

LOL!

Go to the boot.. lift the carpet (don\'t tug it, it may be attached to the retractable back thingy (you know, the back of the bins/rear seat folding thingy *is absolutly great in describing things*

You may have a card platform which is larger than the spare wheel, if it isn\'t you should be able to see a metal shield cover thing towards the left of the boot floor... thats where the fuel pump hides *since I last remember* .. have fun :D

And yeah its pretty simple to remove :)

Hahaha.. and also remember to use Saftey matches (emphasis on *saftey* LOL) to analyse the fuel tank/pump before you rip it out :P!! because its dark in there.. hahahah *ignore me.. what I really meant to say is use a torch :)*

Hehe, yes,

Then it is as I thought.

Regarding the mat I have already installed the Mazda oem Luggage straps so I know how it goes of. Fun to have mods that are a walk in the park :P

You mean blowtorch or the medival ones with lampoil in a canister, or just a rag dipped in oil round a stick?

Pretty much yes.

Earth, power, few fuel lines and about 8 small screws to pull the assembly out. :wave

AHhh.. Is that why everybody talks about pops and bangs when they speak about FD\'s.. I thought it had something to do with the exhaust, when it\'s the fuelpump change!! :P
