Sorry for bothering you all again :P I\'m a headache which never disappears :D
Anyway... I wonder if anyone knows why this was done to my car before I bought it....
I\'ve circled two vacuum hoses below which were blocked using screws (on purpose), but I couldn\'t work out what the hell the owner was trying to do.
I\'ve connected them back.. I\'m not sure but could it be a reason to why my car pops and bangs at high revs? Even if its not, I\'m curious to why its been done.
Any advice please :D
Thanks

God knows why previous owner did that - but a couple of hoses on the twin turbo system have pills in (Reduces the diameter of the hoses), I wonder if he was trying to do that?
I don\'t think he was.. they were just ended off...
I\'m in confusion myself .... o___O I think he wanted it to die on me :( I put them back on before I drove the car because I wanted to check everything for myself before hand and found them both blocked with large screws.. I didn\'t really trust him much... hes seemed like a very dodgy mechanic.
those hoses shouldnt have pills in them...
god only knows what he was doing
Should I go back to him and give him a bitch slap? :)
At a glance those are going to the duty solenoids - so I\'m assuming the car would either run open loop (ie over boost) or closed loop. (Run less bosst as the wastegate would be linked direct to the +pressure side? (Depending on what he did with the other end of that hose?
i had exactly the same done on my car and found this was somehting to do with how someone had attempted to put the boost controller on perhaps but either way i pulled it all of.
Thanks for the explainations everyone :D!
I am guessing its something related to boost controller, as he removed it before giving me the car.. what a slag! :P
I\'ll check all the other vacuum hoses just to make sure he didnt remove anything else :O!
I blocked the same 2 hoses when i plumbed in the Electronic boost controller a while back, as they were no longer needed.
The blocked hoses should have been replaced when he took the EBC off!
