Title: Who\'s running 4 X 850cc Injectors? ^^Question^^
Post by: RobbieRX-7 on May 17, 2007, 08:45:33 PM
I wanna put some spare 850cc injectors i\'ve got to replace the 550cc ones. Now i\'ve heard that the primary rail needs machining to house these properley but where exactly does it need machining? Also does it matter that the secondary injector does not sit all the way to the bottom of the rail? The primary and secondary\'s are different lengths with the primary being longer than the secondary.

i think its the secondarys that need matching, the primary\'s should fit straight in. Make sure you have a fuelling system in place though or they will pour out loads of fuel.

I\'ve answered my own question! I need to mill 1/8" off the top of the rail. Right, anyone know where i can get them cleaned and flow tested

We have fitted this set up in I think four cars including my own with NO machining, but be warned you will probably need a lap top hooked up to start the car to regulate the fuel,

Hope this helps.

Each and every time? Or just the first time?

Just to get it fired up initially and then the obviously would have to be mapped anyway

I\'m tacking on to this thread cos i have exactly the same question. I have acquired a pair of 850s on a rail but I have no idea whether it is an existing primary rail or a secondary rail. Can you look at the picture and let me know what I\'ve got?!

In any case, can you confirm that 850s will go on the existing primary with no modification (which is what I think I got from the posts above)?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

The picture you have shown is of the secondary rail and yes you can drop 850\'s in place of the  primary\'s with no mods.
