Title: Diff Mount Removal - How do you do it?
Post by: ash on May 16, 2007, 12:24:04 PM
Hi All,

I need to remove and replace my diff mount on my FD but is it as easy as jacking the car up, removing the pins going through the bushes at the ends of the mount and undoing the 4 bolts that bolt to the diff and then fitting the new one or am i being too optimistic here?

Thanks
Ash

I have found one thread that kind of helps, it says that i need to remove the Power plant frame - is this the easiest way or can i get to the bolts without removing the PPF?

Anyone??

If you do end up removing the powerplant frame, remember to support the gearbox, as otherwise it will drop along with the engine. The gearbox actually \'floats\' between the engine and diff by use of the ppf, and by removing this will mean it can no longer float and will require support until the ppf is put back on.
