Title: Vented Pop-Ups?
Post by: CharlieP on May 13, 2007, 11:00:02 AM
Morning all....
I have to get some new pop up covers soon, would you recommend the vented covers? The cars is fairly standard, standard bonnet,  etc

Is it worth me paying £35 extra for vented pop ups?

Thanks

Supposedly they should allow clean cool air to the air filters.

BUT

If you have a standard airbox then the pick up point is no where near it so therefore there is zero benefit other than visual appeal.

Ok...well it has got an idcution kit, so I\'m guessing better air flow.

On the visual...I actually prefer the smooth look...but then air flow is surely more important

Could you not bring a cold air feed from underneath the front of the car ??

yes, and K&N make a remote cold air filter kit, you could mount it in the engine and direct the air flow from another vent or outside to it

Could you post a picture? Or email?

Are they made of plastic? Cos RotaryArt do the two covers for about 40ish but then they are fibre glass.....or is that each!? :s
