Title: Looking to replace my belts...
Post by: Jim_rx7 on May 06, 2007, 06:47:12 PM
Anyone done this recently? Also, any how to info?

If you have done it recently, where did you get the belts from? I went to a local car parts place and they had several different listings and didn\'t know what was needed!!?

thanks in advance.

not too bad at all when i did this after one split (oops). About 20mins. Take off intercooler pipes to aid access. loosen rider wheel on right and unscrew tensioner, move rider wheel up. slide aircon belt off. Then loosen alternator fixing in the centre, unscrew alternator tensioner a fair bit and rotate alternator down, and the alternator belt should come off ok. i got the belts for a local motor shop to me. When replacing, tension is important -but since i didn\'t have the proper tensioner tool, someone said the belt should turn about 90 degrees by hand at the widest span if you get my drift. Take a photo before so you dont forget where the new belts go!
