Title: Clutch Problem....
Post by: Ian_s on January 16, 2004, 06:35:05 PM
This has happened a couple of times now... when in slow moving traffic my clutch sticks to the floor and my idle gets slower and slower till it virtually stops.  I have to put the car into neutral and put my foot under the pedal to force it back up again and everything is ok again.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Cheers

Ian

Low clutch pressure (that is if the FD has a hydraulic clutch)

Could be fingers on the clutch cover plate that are very weak and are not retracting after release bearing has pushed them in. Could be a few things. I don\'t know if the clutch or could be a hydraulic issue.

I had a very similar experience when i first got my car. The seals in the clutch master cylinder needed replacing.

Thanks guys... I will probably just top up the clutch fluid for now and see if the problem happens again. If it does I will have to get my self a new cylinder.
