Right: can anyone explain to me how to do the rear brake pads? I did the fronts no problem whatsoever, but can\'t get the piston pushed in at the back. Is it like one of those wierd screw in type pistons? (Doesn\'t look like it) If so, how in the world do i turn it to move it in. If anyone can explain to me how to get that piston to move in i\'d be very greatful (Amalso about to check the service manual)
(Oh, and i appear to have pressed shift when typing 3 in the title! Can a mod change the £ to a 3 please!? :p)
ok, manual says: rotate the piston clockwise using the SST - I don\'t have the SST: does anyone know how to rotate the piston any other way?
Think you can just use some long nose pliers to screw the pistons back.
well the last time i did mine they were not screwed in or out . You need to get a G clamp and use that to push it back in. Just because there maybe something that looks like a keyway to screw does not mean it is. They could be just dam tight as most are but also make sure you have the top of the filler point undone so that the oil has somewhere to go.
Hi Nik
If you look here you will find a

Or you can print the attached word doc to help
As Nik and Kermit have said, the rear brake pistons are screw backs on the 3rd gen RX-7\'s.
You can use any of the following to wind back.
1, SST or piston winder from a local motor factors. Bought mine for £20.
2, 15mm spanner and screw driver to wind.
3, big pair of plyers.
4, take it to someone and let them do it for you.
