Title: Big Thanks to Hayward Rotary..
Post by: danrx7 on April 28, 2007, 02:40:19 PM
I\'d just like to say thanks again to all at Hayward Rotary and share my experiences..

After engine compression problems in December 06 I decided, following a call to Carl, that my car would be in good hands at Hayward Rotary. So, the drop-off date was set and a month later, I was back to collect the car and begin the painful process that is the run-in period.

The Apexi Power FC was set to limit the rpm and I was given strict instructions of how to drive the car during the run in time. These were also re-iterated on the Warranty sheet.

Finally, after 2000 miles of low rpm and no boost, the date was set for final mapping and I made the journey back to Reading.  Once again I was greeted by a cuppa, which is always appreciated after the drive over.

Quick chat and a sneeky peek at some of the other rexs ensued, while Matt carried out the necessaries on the ECU and set off on the road test. Once satisfied he with the result, I was invited to go for a test run.

The difference is absolutely staggering, I am utterly amazed and very pleased by the result. I guess thats how the FD should move :D .

So once again a huge thanks to Carl, Geoff, Ian and Matt for their work, cheers guys - highly recommeded.

Thanks,
Dan.

So nice to read such positive feedback about rotary specialists Dan, glad you are pleased with the result, gives the rest of us that need work doing some reassurance that your in safe hands with Carl, and crew, but then i don\'t think iv\'e read of any negative comments about Hayward! apart from the tea thing! :2Confused what\'s the specs of the car?
Enjoy Bob

Cheers Andy, it was good to get the opportunity chat to a fellow member.

Agree Bob, definately a case of credit where its due. The car is close to stock, its running an Apexi Power FC, Apexi air filters and Mazdaspeed backbox.

Power-wise, I\'m thinking decat and straight through midepide to free up some horses  next. :)

Thinking along those lines myself, collecting bits! iv\'e got an efini Y pipe +Hard pipes,Gruppe type inlet box /filter, huge Feed type DP straight through mid made by re-am star dust factory, and a repacked Dolphin Cat back, and a new Apexi, does it ever end? so getting bits together to fit myself then get mapping done, are you going to the New Forest meet tomorow?

New Forest sounds an ace venue for a meet, a bit far out of my way though. I was considering driving into London to watch the start of the:3gears-rh Gumball.

The Atomic one is a serious piece of kit! Absolutely amazing rx7 dedicated to blitzing tracks - gotta love it. Good to see some of the recent editions like your tailgate and dash, very tasty. Would love to see it in action around Castle Coombe.

Was chatting to one of the guys running in there today.  He might hold the key to the next project!

Well another happy customer.....grabbed the car tonight, and started the running in process!  200 miles down, 300 to go!

And Carl you are a total git ;) for setting the cut out at 4000!  It so wants to go!!!  Cant wait until tomorrow evening when we can start to open her up :D

Thank you once again for what seems like you dropped nearly everything for me to make the next race!  Thats true customer service for you....even if it does come with only 4000 rpm :p

See you tomorrow night

Cheers John

Everything run in now!  Its amazing how a little redbull and a few matchsticks can soon eat into 500 miles!  That and knowing where a lot of Shell stations are!!!
