Have a look in the pdf\'s - you want 89-91 part 4b - for the Turbo.

There is a whole section in there on the fault codes, and where the 6 way and 1 way check connectors are that you need to wire a small lamp or led to, as well as shorting the 1 way to ground.  The whole process is described in there somewhere (it\'s been ages).

They show a test unit being connected to the 6 way - no need for that.  Connect a 12V led or small bulb to the positive battery terminal, and the other end connects to one of the 4 pins on the right of the connector as you look at it - from memory I think it\'s the bottom middle - but if it doesn\'t flash then move it around to one of the others. If nothing flashes, then you have no fault codes.  (Hint - why not create a fault code so you can check that it\'s actually working).  Once the 1 way connector is grounded turn the ignition switch to IGN - it\'s now in diag mode.

Hope that helps.

You\'re a lucky chap - I installed a fault code LED in that TII before I sold it on.  It should be poking out under the center console near your left leg when in the drivers seat.  Turn the ket to acc and it should start to flash.  If it doesnt you will need to check the connection back to the ECu as it may have gotten disturbed when I fitted the Panspeed.  Its an orange wire going into pin 16A on the middle plug I think.  If it still wont work there should be a spare stock ECU with the car, swapping them over is only 10 mins work. (Assuming you got given the spare with the car?)

The fault codes are posted on loads of websites so it shouldnt be a problem :)

The fault codes are all listed in the pdf link above - if there is more than one fault, then they are flashed out in numerical order

No problem :)
IIRC It should stay lit up if there are no codes to display...

In what gear?  Peak power was around 6500rpm when I was running the car?

What sort of fuel are you running?  If you cant get Optimax/ultimate then you should be adding octane booster, ordinary 97 might be resulting in knock - which could be why the car has no power above 6k. (Knock will result in the ECU retarding the ignition)  How does the car feel under boost?  It should pull like a train from around 3500-6500+ with no let up!
What level of boost are you seeing in each gear? IIRC it should be holding around 1bar. If its consistently less than this you may have a split pipe in the high pressure side of the inlet system.

Are you getting any smoke from the exhaust?  I suppose its possible the turbo may be getting a bit tired?

I\'m not entirely sure, but cheap(ish) hybrids and recon FC turbos pop up on ebay from time to time, or you may be able to get that one reconitioned. (Assuming it is the turbo thats at fault)

How much boost is it holding +4500rpm?
