Title: Fitting Vmount to unmapped PFC
Post by: chrno on April 27, 2007, 11:04:36 AM
Hi there, have been searching the forum for quite some time now, and I guess im either stupid or blind. But I havn\'t found any real answers to my question.

I have a 94 Fd blablabla with Catback,Pfc,Profec(not installed the solenoid untill I will get it mapped) and I am just about to recieve a huge package from Japan including a Revolution Vmount kit (IC,Rad,Greddy elbow,Greddy Filters with hardpipe, and so on)  Will it be ok to install the kit on my car and drive about the unmapped PFC untill I get the next check from my boss to get a Knightsports Cat.

I undestand that I will increase the flow a bit, but since my new downpipe is lying around in my livingroom, and the cat will come shortly together with fuelpump and injectors. Will it be ok to use it, without chance of ruining the engine..

Thanks in advance,

Daniel Gardh

if you fit everything then i think its ok to take the car to get mapped as long as you dont go into any boost, but to use the car as a everydar driver until its mapped i wouldnt risk it bud..

Im not saying I will fit the exhaust parts before I get it mapped.. Just the Vmount..  So car untill mapping will be Vmount,Catback, airfilters, pfc

well the standard pfc map is more richer than stock so if thats all your fitting may be ok.. dont boost hard with it tho? not 100% on this tho..

with a vmount the colder the air the more dense it is so more air is passed through . i .e youll need more  fuel to componsate, you dont want  the risk of running lean bud..
Theres a thread on rx7club, saying as long as you dont go over 10psi i think it was, just dont fit a de-cat else you`ll get boost spikes lol..

Yeah mate...

I done a bit of looking into it. Like Craig said, as long as you don\'t go over 10psi you should be fine.
