Ok few of you know im painting ma car with the black n red bumhole.. think is im having reel probs trying to get the lines straight and looking right.. any suggestions? im using that thin line tape that they design the flames with on american hotrods lol.. need to get the red coats on tomoz to try n get her finished for Crail on the 29th :S
what im aiming for..
HI mate you could try a lazer level should give you a line to follow.
I am sure others know better ways but thats what I could come up with.
Cheers
easiest way mate would be to get some vynal (sp) templates made up then pull em off when your done :0)
think im guna try thicker tape hoping it wont bend or go out of line, cn get the lines almost spot on with masking tape, but that wount give me a clean edge..
good luck :0) i think this red on cars is catchin on like a virus lol
You will need fine line tape, if you get the thicker diamete then you will be able to hold a straight line better.
You attatch one end then hold the whole lot off holding the other end you lay the line down letting the line settle itself, itis a fine are but obtainable with some praccy, the lines on my car were much easyer as they had nice big curves in em but getting the other side identical was a pain.

A slightly older pic of my car
Wow now thats a big piccy
kewl, cheers m8 kinda what i was hoping for lol.. so whats the thickist avaliable :)
You can get it in all widths but thickness/stiffness is what you are looking for, dont use masking tape like others have to mask sharp edges as the paint will more than likely bleed under it.
Also fineline is flexable and wont kink when manipulating it round a dificult edge.
best play to buy it? lol i get most ma supply from a car prep trade centre lol
