i think im almost decided!
i have a perfect set of stock seats and i have just bought a set of carbon ones which are in the car at the moment.
just thought i would ask if anyone would like to swap for leather fronts as i have heard many people say they are too slippy or the carbon ones look nicer.
i cant decide myself but just thought i would see if anyone is thinking on the same tracks,
cheers
:Thumbsup!
Ive had all 3 and the leather are very slippy out the twisty bits, I would not have them again purely for that reason, although they were Blinking cold in winter and burn your ar8e in summer.
Stock or carbon are best IMHO. Velor will probably hold you slihtly better but have never had any problem with the carbon look seats
i find carbon very firm i think and velour softer plus i think carbon are slightly longer at the base but thats just a feeling :)
carbon do look very flush and clean though
bump................................................
would anyone like em?
got any pics tinker-27taylor@blueyonder.co.uk
will send some accross as soon as i can fella
I\'ve got some leather seats... what do the carbon ones look like??
Tharek send me pics aswell bro
forgot to take pics again! either tonight if they can be seen in the dark or tomorrow.
:)
i have got a perfect set of stock velour ones too but might keep hold of em because they are very clean. :)
pics, a little late but thought id show em off as i kept em and got rid of stock alcantara.
these are also slightly longer and much firmer and ceaner (less dusty) than stock so makes for a nice interior.
:Thumbsup!
still considering leather esp red interior swap
When you say carbon do you mean bucket seats or just the colour of the ones above (erm I\'m a little colour blind so scuse me!)
the ones above are known as carbon as they have a carbon effect with the material but not actual carbon bucket seats.
very nice looking though as they are a world apart from alcantara.
They\'re the R2 seats right?
I\'m sure mine has them and very comfy they are! I\'m not a fan of leather seats in sports cars at all as you do slip and slide all over the place!
i think so they came in select models and i love em :)
jut like to change things alot so i cant really comment. i didnt like when i first took my alcantara ones out as they were mint but i loved these when fitted as they look unique and clean.
now i still have a desire for leather as i\'ve had it in previous cars i just want it.
my ideal would be cream leather like some fds have in the US or full red interior but now considering black.
but i must agree went out in one at a activity day with leather and slipping everywhere!
not sure
Got red leathers in mine, was lucky enough to find the front and rear seats from a crashed Type X in a breakers. Sold the rears on here as only wanted the fronts and very happy with them.
I dont find slipping a problem at all, even on the slalom on the first North Weald activity day.

i remember yours, very nice :mmmm
any other offers guys?
so remind us what you are selling the carbon look ones or velor ones? i would be interested in the carbon look ones?
carbon look ones, i had velour ones but swapped to carbon ones and i love them! but i cant stay pleased i feel the need for a change.
im not looking to sell just swap for either red or black leather. i just hope i like the leather otherwise i may not find anymore of these.
i can swap em over at japshow it takes literally 5 mins to get em out, 4 bolts.
The centre of the velour ones are faux suede, better grip for your arse than leather or the carbon look.
I thought you wanted to swap RZ Carbon seats!

that would be silly now wouldnt it! I do occasionally dream about red carbon seats but no chance of spending that kind of cash not on that anyway.
also i have to disagree about grip rob, the suede or alcantara bit is smooth on most seats and the actuall stuffing so soft in the carbon ones you dont sink as much you sit on the seat better and gips much nicer plus i had them side by side and they are bigger.
besides ill have none if i go leather but i just have to try all the types with everything on that car! i would change the colour, wheels, spoiler etc etc every week if i could :rollin i do almost change the exhausts that often though :evillaugh
a few people let me know they are interested but where did you go...?
my carbon seats as above for sale for £199 :)

Clearly off topic but Nice to see ya back m8 ;)
Sorry for the interuption.
this is off topic but iv just given a carbon one away lol. if id known it was worth seomething...... well never mind
I have the suade type and my mate wants to swap for his Red leathers - are they really that much nicer??
Do you need a swap or are you just selling them?
I always liked the carbon look ones over alcantara. Would like to try them to see how firm they are. Are they in your car at the moment i.e. are they going to be at RS4?
Well mine are meant to be the best for grip - my mate has a 400bhp rx and i think the leathers are not holdin him enough.
They are in my car and ain\'t looking to sell - whats rs4?
sorry, I was asking m4drx about his.
RS4 is Rotorstock 4

I have had two FD\'s and both had the carbon look seats in, so I didn\'t think they were rare which was why I gave my last pair away too.
IIRC they were a bathurst special edition feature, but they aren\'t all that rare coz\' they kept coming out with bathursts!
Yeah, these carbon look seats aren\'t rare, they just put them in later model fd\'s I also found the carbon look seats to be a bit softer than the alcanter version. I think if you have a black fd, the only option is to get red leather seats..goes together like cheese on toast
I have black leather seats which I can swap for yours. As I own a UK spec RX7 FD. Let me know if this interests you.

Thanks,
Kyle.
in my opinion they are rare - for proof see cars at RS4 and compare the amounts of alcantara to carbon look. i dont mean they are rare as in limited edition at all but i waited 8 months to find 1 set.
i will refund anyone who is disapointed or who does not find them firmer than alcantara ones. they come out of later bathurst models as has been said so they tend to be in much better nik than alcantara and flame me if you will but i find the alcantara ones a bit dull and non sports car ish plus most of all and perhaps my only reason for sale is that they are just dusty they tend to make the whole interior that way for me anyway.
also i took them out of my car yesterday so unfortunately they wont be in for RS4 but they are fantastic looking and feeling seats in my opinion and many others so i have worries about the new owner not loving them.

well i like red but they wear badly which is a downer but the biggest factor for me is the rest of the interior some had just the seats and carpets and some had every single bit in the interior red! even the belts and doors etc!
i like them but i dont think they look good with an all black interior.
:Thumbs-up
I agree that the alcantara seats look dull and dated. They look kinda blue, and if i had the cash i would get mine recovered half leather such as the bolsters and the main part alcantara.

Sorry to hijack but i\'m glad this thread has come up....
I now realise I have a mint set of carbon effect in my car!!
(I said they looked like carbon but I thought it was a fluke! doh!)
Yeah, I\'ve got mint carbon-effect seats too and I really like \'em! :)
