Just went for the first mot to get the car registered in the uk unfortunatly(as i guessed) it failed on emmisions-nothing new there with these cars i suppose! can anyone help with advise on getting it all down?
co was at 5.31% should be 3.5%
and hc was 1713ppm should be max 1200ppm
if u read about ull find ur problem or find another freindly station that on here.
option one get new cat and lambda sensor and plugs and keep fingers crossed
this assumes standard car and standard ecu so car shld pass easilly
option 2 any modded car will need apexi ecu and a good tune
option 3 contact clive for this option depending on ur location
sorry, the spec of the car is far from standard!
not all but mostly as follows HKS T04S turbo,boost controler:D-SBC waist gate,twin uprated oil coolers, intrust 3 layer intercooler,HKS F-CONv ecu,water injection,ignition amps,uprated fuel pump-cant remember what make,pressure regulator,under drive pullys,
has anyone got any experiance with these HKS F-CONV ecu\'s ?
think re worx now use them also tdi in barking thats abbout it i think
check for any registered hks tuner for that one
hi mate, empty your fuel catch tank thats under your elbow next to the throttle body. These can cause emmisions to fly through the roof. Theres other secrets as well like leave it running for 10min before putting it into the station and leaving your air con off etc.
she had been running for a while i drove it 10 miles to the mot station! had a few funny looks with no plates or tax on it!what does the fuel catch tank look like?never noticed anything like that in the throttle area befor,
not sure if there is a cat on it too- it could have a silenced decat on it will have to investigate that over the weekend,as for the aircon that was removed a longtime ago along with other non esentials like the interiour!
its a black cylinder about 7cm long. as you take the elbow off its tied on with the two lower bolts, cant miss it! It purges gases from the charcoal canister but directs them back into the UIM which isnt very good i suppose.
empty it? how, just pull one of the pipes off and tip fuel out, or do you need to clean it with something
take it off then just blow through it or get an air gun and blast it through it.
well mine has an Apexi ECU and had the cat on for the test my emmisions were 0.48 which is quite low. The MOT guy so he would like to try it with the air pump disconnected and then with out the cat just to compare the readings. Apart from an idea that they can produce low emmisions i cant help you with the MODs you are running but good luck.
