Anyone know where you can get some good brake pads for the FD?
Depends on the sort of pad you want, I run hawk on all 3 fd\'s. Get mine from //www.shyauto.com bigger range than just hawk, del to your door.
I use hawk + on rears and hawk ht10\'s on front never had a problem on any trackdays with them.
Just want normal road pads, ones not for track use.
Any good Motor factor should be able to supply stock Ferodo pads, even Halfords can.
Hope this helps.
I was told that Frodo pads dont fit in an FD
Lee
Ferodo pad number for the fronts is FDB222M
Hope this helps
why clive is that zip stuck on your anorak again??
i\'ll come round with the wd-40 to get you out if you like, although knowing you it\'s probably yellow so i\'ve no chance of getting it off you.
:rollin
Fraid to say yer right. ;)
As most parts suppliers only list bits up to the last import date
of .95 would I be right in assuming that the front brake system
didn\'t change on later cars and the part numbers remain the
same.
Someone told me that if you change your brake pads you should change your discs at the same time. Is this true?

Hi John,
Yes there is only one pad type whatever the year for the FD

Hi,
Disc\'s would only be changed due to excessive wear where the pads make contact with the Disc and this will leave a deep ridge around the outside of the Disc or bad heat cracks which will be very clear if bad, both symptoms will be quite clear if witnessed .
l would have said at least 4 to 5 front pad changes to one set of Disc\'s but this could vary a lot if you drive excessively hard [i.e.track days etc] or if you change your pads from standard to aftermarket.
Hope this helps.

No this is very wrong. Aside from the fact that you\'ll go through a fair few sets of pads per set of disks, you should always drive in a new set of disks with an existing set of pads to take in to account teh individual effects of your calipers.
Cheers that helps a lot, just buying pads is expensive enough as it is.
