I\'ve just whipped the old steering wheel off to replace with a momo. I have the correct boss but it is fouling on the plugs on the clock spring. Can i just remove the clock spring, what does it do?? Any help will be gratefully accepted!:Laugh
I think it\'s something along the lines of a method of transferring the electrical connections from the horn etc with out the need for wires, but I\'m sure some one will chime in with a better answer.
I think i\'ve seen that some people turn it through 180 deg when swapping wheels, would that help?
hmmm not really still don\'t think i\'ll have the clearance on the plugs, i\'m half tempted to just remove it completley and see what happens....
One plug on it is for the airbag and one for the horn, do you need both removed?
If you take it out you will need to find the wire by grounding for the horn and wire it to the wheel, not ideal but if you add enough wire for when you twiddle the wheel it\'s meant to be ok. When you find the horn wire can you post which one it is?
It\'ll cost ya!:evillaugh
After all my encouragement and priceless tips?:2eek
lol well i guess i could let you know! I\'ll update my progress later, wish me luck!
Watch out for that air bag, they can sting:bandit
I\'m well past that stage the old steering wheel is completely removed. The new one just fouls on the plug sockets on the clock spring.
You need to run green/red to your horn and black/grey to a good earth then it should work all okay! :Laugh
Clock spring is for the air bag, if it\'s broken on a ford scorpio it lights up a warning on the dash, dont know if thats the same for a 7,
