Just removed the rear speakers to see whats underneath as will be fitting a rear strut brace when i can find one for sale. Do you have to cut away the metal bodywork that holds the speakers? or do the strut brace\'s have some sort of adaptor?? May seem like a silly question but it just puzzled me
I think IIRC that you have to cut a slot in the rear towers, otherwise there no access to the strut mounting. In theory theres enough clearance to do this and still fit a speaker in the top. :wave
Ahhhh seems logical cheers brett. In that case think i may just cut the whole section away as i\'m not planning on having thoses speakers in there anyway.
Cheers Again Adam
or you can use a hole cutter and some careful measuring - keeps it neat that was aswell :D
stu runs off to hide the rear strut brace back in the loft :D
lol you know ya wanna ;)
hummm might fit it to the cab if i get chance - although not looked at the cab - it might already have one - it did come with a knightsport front brace
bloody hell adam - didnt realise that was your car !! LOl
just been looking the the pics and you bought the FC with the silly IC thru the bonnet !!
im sure that was up the end of the country ???
Yeah i brought it, was in good shape, solid underneath like the white cab. Agree the IC through the bonnet was not good but this was soon put right as you have seen. Anyone wanna TII bonnet with a huge hole in it lol good for cooling :Tongue1
Think i have a pick of her when i picked her up

the second i saw it , i knew i had seen it on ebay !!
Didnt buy it through ebay though, think it was on freeads or summin like that. Had to travel to Macclesfield to pick it up, after inspection. Like i say was in good shape, underneath is original and solid! also came with spare sills and a box full of spare parts, took it for a spin and drove ok, apart from a dodgy radiator, which is now all sorted. Engine bay was nothing to be impressed with but then i knew i was buying it to do work too so took it at a bargain price, had to have it trailered home but this cost me Ohhhh......NOTHING!
Am dead pleased with progress so far though, hope to have it at RS4.
sounds superb matey
the trailor use was a good price :D
cost me £125 to get the white cab from you and that was mates rates :(
^^^ What they said ^^^
Hole or slot for the coupe, and you get a silly bar in the middle of you luggage space - on the vert, it can be made to fit under the cover for the spare wheel - only a bit of cheap plastic to cut, and you will lose the last 2 mounting screw thingies at the back - but the bar is not visible when fitted - very stealthy. It clears the spare with no problems.
Only 1 point to remember - don\'t over tighten the bar - you can get a lot of camber on the wheels without trying to hard :Hammer :Hammer :Nono!
^ Is that the voice of experience? :Giggle
:o Yep - might have been driving around on the inside edges of me tyres for all of about 2 miles !!
:driving :chat :chat
i need to check the cab to see if i have one fitted - if not - it doenst sound a bad job to fit :D :D :D
Dont over tighten lol will remember that when it comes to fitting.
£125 isnt too pricey stu, i got it back to Worc for free as i have a friend in the business. Since, he has left and when i moved house a few weeks back it cost me £55 to get it trailered from one side of Worc to the other a mere 10min journey. gutted!!
ouch that must have hurt for such a small distance
i remember when i fit my mazdaspeed reat strut brace you have to drill some holes at the rear strut tower to fit it but is quite easy to fit.......
