hummm its got a S4 front end - so thats a worry if it is a series 5 ??
and 0-100-0 in 11 seconds
crickey thats superb - i only managed a 15.03 in the 1/4 mile with a speed of 93 mph - something really wrong with my TII if a EGI can do that ??????????
Drift Wheels - cool, do you sit back and fold your arms and let the wheels do the drifting? confused.

Ok, just to clear up!

Driftz is the brand name of the wheels - look at the pics!
S4.5 eh matey - thats impressive
i take it that its the S4 with the higher BHP engine
still - there are some dodgy listings out there
no test drives unless a deposit of 2500?!!
the world record for 0-100-0 is held by the Ultima gtr, and that only manages it in 9.4!!
http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/records/part6.html
I suspect the 11 secs is 0-100-0 kmh. so actually 0-62-0
Nope, all the EGI\'s in the UK were 146bhp, it was just some under bonnet changes (mainly power steering) and a few tweaks to the interior, the UK never got a true series 5 N/A. Hence why the body style is S4 for an EGI and S5 for a TII or TII Cab over here.
Japan only got the Turbo\'s, the USA got a series 4 and 5 EGI, 4 and 5 Turbo and a N/A Cabriolet. Not sure what the rest of the world got. Incidentally the entry level US Egi only had single pot calipers up front too..... :)
so they only go to 7000rpm?
Quote from: hawker182the mrs says she dont get it
That\'s something for you and her to discuss privately :Thumbs-up
wow 0-100-0 in 11 seconds??? thats quick :)
Yep that is a S4 all right, but saying that its a Genuine UK car!!! I didn\'t know they sold S4 turbos in the UK?
Yeah maybe lol. Anytime i start ranting about my car she switches off just waiting for the part when i say...."Yeah but its only gonna cost".....sure you all know the LOOK

OK cheers matey - i have replied on your brace thread aswell - i will try not to chase you round MRc all night :D
im looking to buy a UK S5 on friday, and i\'ve been reading around, S4 n/a\'s only rev to 7k with a tacho that reads to 8k. but S5s rev to 8k read to 9k. one im looking at revs to 8k, so must be an S5 engine.
my info
http://rx7.voodoobox.net/infofaq/rx7specs.html
wanna know, cos will be put off a little if its only a 146hp version, need a car thats at least a little on par with my pals Stage 1 S13
The UK never got a S5 n/a. What a car can rev too has nothing to do with what\'s printed on the tacho and i\'m not aware of any Mazda tacho reading to 9,000 rpm! As Brett said ALL UK egi\'s are the 146hp version and a standard S13 will absolutely wipe the floor with you.
As Brett has said the UK n/a cars were all S4 engined. If you look at the performance figs they are very similar + you can get more power without much problem - ask Brett, his last n/a was pushing some quite impressive figures!
If you want more power why not go Turbo II
Yeah I agree. Go for the turbo II. I just bought one after looking at s14\'s and s15\'s for ages. Im well happy with my choice. The turbo II just gives you a better kick up the rear when you floor it!:3gears-rh
All the UK EGI\'s will rev to the end of the tacho ;)
Both EGI and TII had a 8000rpm limit with the red line starting at 7k IIRC. Think my FD had a 9k tacho...
reason im thinking of an EGI is because they\'re cheaper to buy, easier to find(where i\'ve been looking recently, Ebay, autotrader, pistonheads etc) from what i\'ve read quick for what they are, cheaper to insure(im not past the magical 21 let alone 25) and more reliable that the turbo blocks, because of less pressure. anyone know of any TIIs for a 1000? im viewing an EGI asking 600. thats why im in EGI territory.
and a side question at the revs thing, does that mean that on the S5 NAs according to this link http://rx7.voodoobox.net/infofaq/rx7specs.html which i think a US source. redline begins at 8000rpm, but limit is at 9000rpm??? or where exactly is it. being as S4s you say rev to a 7k redline and 8k limit.
btw car is intended for use as a second car, probly 3k miles in a year, will be covered at night/when not in used, always warmed up etc. but intend to master RWDs with it, do some trackdays and some driftdays. how might i go about boosting a S4s 146/138 up to S5+ figures? or S4 stock turbo power?
TII for 1K - yup mine :D
it will be for sale depending on the outcome of the mot on sat
its been a weekend toy for me and done no more that 3000 in over the 3 yrs i have had it
if you think you can hold on - wait till sat !!
Stu
reallly? i\'ll be viewing the EGI. but can always go back after i\'ve thought about it through. any chance you could PM me details. whats the catch? would PM you but as i\'m new or the forum just doesn\'t like me i can\'t do much atm, like PM you or browse he for sale section.
Again as Brett has said most rotaries will rev to the end of the tacho if fueling/ignition/etc will allow. The redline is just an indicator really, your last chance to change gears before you possibly dammage your engine. If it says 8,000rpm is the redline on the tacho then don\'t exceed it without knowing the risks.
Get an insurance quote as a 20 y/o may struggle to insure a 2.4 turbo (or whatever they class a 13B-T as these days)
charlay - drop me an email ( its in my profile )
there is no catch - i have a Cab that i need to turn my attention to - and 2 cars doesnt help - along with my 2nd kid arriving in 4 weeks - i need to sell a car :(
You can squeeze around 180bhp from an EGI without pulling the engine, a straight through exhaust of around 2.25-2.5" diameter and a high flow panel filter will free up 25+ bhp with no difficulty. Anything more than that will require porting and fuelling to match.
