1) Batteries - My FD\'s battery is pretty small... why would the original have been replaced by a small jobbie, and what battery should I replace it with to go back to normal size... normal Halfrauds jobbie??? I suspect a few electrical niggles, and want to make sure its getting enough power.
2) My FD\'s thermostat has been altered (or maybe replaced) so that it triggers the fans to come on at a lower temp.. when I switch the car off when I get home the fans cut out straight away... is there any way to make them keep spinning until the right \'cool\' temp is reached (like in a \'normal\' car LOL)... I\'m a bit scared of melting something!

fit a turbo timer and press the aircon button before you lock the car :)
if you put a timer on the fans they would only cool the water in the rad as the water pump is driven by the engine turning!pretty poinless i would say unless you fitted an electric waterpump, wired the fans to come on for five minutes after you turned the engine off and that i think would then continue to cool the engine OR just drive steady for the last five minutes of your drive home allowing your car to cool down naturaly!

good point.
I always do take it easy on the way home (at leats as far as boost goes), but final temps are around 90deg max when I pull up. Nothing to write home about, but it just seems wrong when it all goes quiet.. :o

Turbo timer? does that monitor turbo temps.. or..?
Turbo timers are a theifts best friend! rx7\'s are easy to get into(i been told) and then you go stick a turbo timer on with wires that will bypass most alarm and imobilisers, and the ignition key so even a stupid theif can nick your car!(i am an electrician so maybe i see it as being that easy!)
And as far as the car is concerned a turbo timer leaves the car running whilst sat still so its still letting the car get even hotter befor it shuts it down! it will let the oil get round the turbos properly though.
Oh and most insurance companys dont like em(theifs best friend)
turbo timers really just allow your turbo to cool down gradual, stops then breaking so im told lol..
You could buy a greddy radiator lol doubles the coolant capacity :yes
I\'ve got a big fat FEED radiator and a FMIC, so maybe its just my paranoia!
