over the past few days, funny enough when its been hotter round these parts, my FD has developed a strange buzznig noise which is coming from below the intake manifold. ive done as much research as i can and have come up with the following conclusions : turbo manifold leak, or one of the primary injectors (as the buzzing noise is also in idle)
Now id have no idea about sorting these things, but i do have it booked in at WGT in 2 weeks time on the 28th. Now ive driven it a few short journeys to the gym and back with no problems, no fires etc :P so will i be ok running it for a few weeks and the journey up to WGT?
I tell you, its one thing after another with this car :god
Are you sure its not coming from the ABS area ?
The ABS sensor used to buzz until I took it out and shook it and put it back.
Is located at the top right of the enginebay.
Sounds like a dodgy solenoid.
ah, i thought it sounded electrical. Managed to get a closer look and it looks like one of the plug leads has a small break in it right at the plug end. can see little blue electrical bits flying past the opening.
and actually it jumped to a nearby chunk o metal once or twice :(.
Could this be it? ( i think it may be) am i needing new leads, or can i just tape her up? :P
oh and ive done the ABS thing now so its not that.
come to think of it, this could be the reason for a few other probs ive been having...
have taped it up for the time being, which has eliminated the noise. Also seems to be idling properly but well see tomorrow when it gets a proper run :)
id get new leads on there matey. the insulation stops it interfeering with other electrical stuff in your car.
hasnt sorted the idle, but i guess i was being optimistic, will be getting some uprated leads all round in the following weeks.
