Title: My Donny Track pics RE-FD3
Post by: yogibear on April 12, 2007, 03:15:24 PM
Did two sessions, first one didnt go so well with a boost hose blowing off after 1 lap. Second Session went a lot better, got 8/9 laps in before I had a coolant leak and had to pull off.

Wish I hadent had problems, was the most fun ive had with my clothes on.

One of the lads took a load of hi-res pics that Ill post when I get them off him.

Who took the pics? :)

Looks sweet with the RE-A front fenders. Very smooth.

How does it handle on the track with the low profiles and no wing?

Does it have plenty of grip or nothing?

Russ

grip ultimatly depends on goos tyres and chassis set up. Big wings make a difference would be interesting to see your comments with no wing though

I found it great on the track, ive got toyos on the rear and bridgestones on the front.

Its got stock suspension at present but it seamed so well balanced it was unreal. Im in two minds cos I was gonna put coilovers on but im not sure now. Its got a half cage in which possibly stiffened it up a bit. The only thing id like to change would be the suspension travel other than that perfect and I was cornering faster than everything else on track including an R34 GTR.

Loved every second of the track time. Instructor guy said it was a hard track but I didnt find it hard at all.

Car went like stink 2.

I agree above

A suspension setup depends on a lot of things. Chassis tyres springs and dampers, torsion bars etc. Race cars require a suspension SET UP, not just Suspension.

If your car has good balance and you like it then dont touch it.

If you love the track you are going to want more than just cheap coilovers anyway.

My old HKS were not very good at all on the circuit. Maybe not the Coil overs themselves but the package didn\'t work. ie Body roll was still there. Once you start, you cant stop. :p

End Rant. :)
