Title: what wipers?
Post by: michaelb on April 10, 2007, 07:51:57 PM
Hi

I know that this is a nuff question but can I buy any front wipers for the FD or do they have to be from Mazda?  Can I get them from a petrol station? Will they fit?

Is there special requirements? Length?

Regards,
Michaelb

Ive stayed standard on mine although upgraded the blades to some bosch wipers. Very good at all speeds and last a while longer than your average ones aswell.

I\'m good thanks mate, should have my C-West nose on in the next month or so and got a few other things to fit aswell.

If anyone gets a REAR wiper blade from Halfrauds, get a smaller one than they recommend because the one they suggest is too long!

I\'ll call Ace Cafe next week and arrange next months meet, hope to see you there

Could you pop into my apartment on the Del Sol, just west of Estapona and give it a spring clean lol - I wish I was getting away from it for a while, really could do with a holiday.  I hope the weather is nice for you sir.

See you in June, Hopefully with the C-West nose by then :)

I love Marbella and the sunshine….I have an IT company here and a small subsidiary on Costa del crime so about every 3 / 4 weeks I need to show my face so to speak..

Where do you go?

Dad went out there on business 30 years ago, he never liked Spain, had this image of the old Benidorm etc. Came back from his first vist on business and had bought an appartment, later we ran an estate agents out there for approx 3-4 years, then government closed over night 300 agents, mainly brits and said everyone had to be licenced.
Now he is retired he spends 8 months a year out there. He built a villa 3 years ago next to Miraflores.

Yeah I\'d be interested in seeing that. You got a cover or the washer kit installed? A photo would be good as the one on rotaryart is a bit meh.

Will be updating my site with Tonys picture.
Apart from looking good, they are much better, they wiper cleaner with a bigger blade and they dont lift when at speed like the stock ones do. I used to notice that above 120-150 the wiper arm on stock blades with deffusers on would move quickly on up stroke as wind was pushing it but struggle and move slowly or down stroke, the single arm wiper cured this.

Does the single wiper clean the same area of windscreen to the twin blades, or is the drivers view a bit reduced?

they wiper just as good an area, if anything Id say slightly bigger. They also wiper quicker as some FDs Ive been in struggle to watch the wipers move, got a customers car in the garage at the moment, and the wipers struggle. They also wiped cleaner than the 2 smaller blades.
