Miguel just emailed me a couple of pictures of a four rotor RX-7 which is being displayed at this years Auto Salon "based on 2 x 12B N/A engines fitted together very neatly".
With his permission I\'ve uploaded the pictures as I\'m sure it\'s an interesting sight....

Shame the body of the car is such a bastardisation!
yeh its a bit "different" isn\'t it :)
Sorry if it\'s old news but I\'m new to rotaries so this is all impressive stuff to me :)
No probs :) ... they\'ve been building it for a while, I\'ve not seen many vids of it totally finished yet ... so any pics and vids are of interest + many people won\'t have seen it yet.
The installation is very neat on this car. Sure, the body isn\'t particularly pretty (Especially the rear), but the standard of finish throughout is superb. The engine and ancilliaries look as if they were made for the car, including the electric air pump & brackets..
I met Hidekazu Koseki (45) owner of Scoot Sports and chatted to him a bit about his car. He\'d wanted to make something similar to an SLR Merc, but as he won\'t drive anything but a rotary, he decided to make this car - for himself. No moulds are planned of the bodywork - this is a one-off only.
He chose to base the engine on 2 x 12B\'s because they\'re 4cm shorter than a 13B based engine, so weight distribution remains balanced. The donor car was a 1995 model, judging by the chassis no. Suspension is height adjustable - simply achieved by increasing air pressure on the reservoir attached to the tubular section in front of the engine. Interior is all suede, including the dashboard and door cards. It looks very classy close up. I asked him about the headlights too, which are also one-off. He\'d fashioned these from fibreglass - to his own design. Doors are gullwing like, with sills half way up the car.
Hidekazu is responsible for making the Scoot bonnet, which is probably the most beautiful of all designs available - and was until recently the bonnet of choice of most smaller RX-7 tuners.
When asked where he got the inspiration for this - he said he got the idea from Porsche GTC\'s.
The man\'s a typical Japanese character, in the sense of being fairly quiet and humble, yet it\'s evident he has great passion for rotaries. A few years back he also ran an FD in NZ up to 227 km/h. Said he will probably get one to do 230 km/h. Much beyond that, FD\'s can literaly fly...:eek
I think it\'s unfair to say the body\'s a bastardisation, etc. That\'s missing the point, IMHO. This was something Hidekazu wanted to make, which he did into late hours of many evenings. If any of us had similar skills to be able to produce such a well finished car by ourselves, then perhaps we could criticise. I couldn\'t help but admire his skills and attention to detail - as well as the flawlessness of the body (No ripples or heavy use of filler. :god
The car will appear in our next video planned for the end of 2004.
I don\'t have any pictures of it, although Russ Gander of Rotary Extreme will - he was there with his professional Digital camera, so I didn\'t bother with external pics. Russ, if you\'re reading this, post some piccies of the exterior, mate!
TAS was very cool this year. Best thing I saw was HKS now have English software for mapping F-Con Type V (Pro) and Type S ECU\'s, at last. Best car was IMHO this example, Veilside\'s NSX bodykit, or a stunning 240Z Datsun prepared by 3 young Autobacs mechanics - running a T51R turbo, HKS F-Con V ECU, all on an original OHC engine, plus skyne rear axle, etc. Another work of art - A few pictures will be on //www.skylineowners.com shortly. That car will also appear on our next video.
