Just thought I’d let you know, those of you who are interested, that I finally found the cause of my severe hesitation/backfiring/bogging down.
After doing a lot of research and getting my self a Mityvac from the states, I replaced the Double throttle control solenoid. When I removed it I found that it had previously been repaired and had split again. Anyway when I replaced it the problems mentioned above disappeared. This solenoid is often removed on manual cars without problems, but is more important on cars with automatic gearboxes. It also comes into play when accelerating â€" unlike the manual cars.
I also had a problem with the car cutting out AFTER a hot restart. I suspected the PRC solenoid and when I replaced that â€" it also disappeared.
So the list grows shorter! Just a couple of little niggles and I’ll be very happy to be able to go out for a drive without the constant worry that doesn’t stop until I get home!!

LOL just kidding;) , Air box turn up ok? I might be selling my seats as I have some Momo buckets but they are a bit tight (or is it me thats a bit wide:2Rolleyes ) I think I could roll the car and not fall out of them without the seat belts on:2eek
