Ive been quoted around 700pounds to change my turbo gasket because the garage says the engine needs to come out to get to it, is it possible to do the gasket without lifting the engine out, as that seems a tad pricey to me?
^ is this for the standard twins??
You can do it either way mate.
But after hearing that a friend had taken 2 days to swap his turbo pack on his drive with hands cut to ribbons.
Then learning the turbo pack was no good and had to come back off. I offered to help him take the block out.:2Rolleyes
If I was to change one again I would take the engine out mate. But a garage should be able to do it with it in.
Better still I would take it to a RX7 specialist, as they know what they are doing and would probably save you money in labour etc.

wow! who quoted you that price! seems a tad on the high side to me! It depends on which gasket is gone I suppose! But removing the turbo pack on the car is very hard and i cut all my fingers when doing it :(
Have you tried Jason @ super7autos (//www.super7autos.co.uk or 01903810139)...he should be able to do the work for approx 400 plus parts and he is an RX7 specialist in Henfield Nr Brighton. He\'d defo get my vote for the work. Ive had a lot of stuff done by him and he\'s been friendly, efficient and very competetive price wise as well :)

HI
Go to power gains motor sport in East London - you will get a very good price
I have had work done there by Kerim ( lots of people on here have the rx7s dealt with there) and the value for money is second to none..

iv done mine on twin set up with engine in, 3-4 hours to do it, thats with coffee and fag breaks
Thanks for the replies, that quote is from a specialist, they said it would be easier for them to do with it out, just to much money imo, ill give super7 a call didnt realise they were only 10mins down the road.
