Brian Stevens ( Kiwimazda) scored a Second in class at the Farnborough and District Dimanche Sprint at Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot.
Brian was running his new 5 gallon fuel tank, carefully crafted as part of Brian\'s weight reduction program ( No!! the car , not him). The planned Perspex tailgate was last seen beating itself to death on a 4 x 2 after encountering difficulties in development. A replacement is planned.
The Rushmoor track is lined with kerbs, not big, but big enough. Brian found that the track was not wide enough in places. This cost him an alloy wheel rim. He could have been worse off. He could have been driving a kerb climbing Astra.
This was being shared by a father and son. Dad broke it, buggering up the event for son !!. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when they both got home.
Some stewards commented on how Brian\'s Mazda became unexpectedly much louder during the timed runs after passing the noise test in scrutineering and practice. It seemed quicker though. Maybe some silencer fell off somewhere!!
Oldone made a guest appearance to give advice and encouragement.
Not many pictures from me this time as I was marshalling on the finish line. Supposed to be paying attention, dodging sideways Mazdas not snapping pics.

The wheel has been replace with some Magnesium ones and more weight reduction is ongoing. I must get it on the scales sometime soon. Cant be much left to take out.
I have a close ratio box coming and a different final drive ratio to try. More power is needed but cash is a bit short at the mo as we have a new addition to the family. Blake was born on Monday night. 8lb 6oz. What a turkey.:)
The diff is also undergoing some repairs after my over exuberance, but that has given me a chance to look around at the rear set up and make some improve ments:cool
