Title: which wheel cleaner
Post by: gee1 on March 31, 2007, 08:22:13 PM
What would people suggest as a good wheel cleaner that won\'t destroy my wheels?

I wash them with hot soapy water at the moment but that leaves marks on them, I would really like to make them shine!

I\'ve always used things like meguiars wonder wheels or something along those lines... Consistent and nice results regardless of brake dust. (also readily availably from halfrauds etc)

Things like autoglym have acidic things in them which can and will strip lacquer / paint if left on for too long.

EDIT: I\'ve never had a wheel with such a big polished rim tho.. I\'d hate to say megs would work and then tarnish your volks.

Meguiars is the best I have found so far, wash the wheels down with this and then I wax the wheels. This keeps them looking cleaner for longer:cool . HTH cheers LEIGH.
